Taragawa Bourbon Cask Japanese Rhum
Taragawa Bourbon Cask Japanese Rum is an amber Japanese rum produced on the subtropical island of Miyakojima, in the Okinawa archipelago. It is made from locally grown sugar cane molasses, fermented and then double-distilled (vacuum distillation followed by atmospheric distillation) to preserve and develop aromas. This rum is aged in American bourbon casks for approximately 5 months, giving it higher aromatic complexity than a white rum while remaining fresh and expressive. On tasting, Taragawa Bourbon Cask reveals a fresh, fruity nose, with tropical notes (banana, passion fruit) complemented by sweet vanilla and light spice aromas from the oak. The palate is balanced and indulgent, combining sweetness, tropical fruits and subtle spices, with a persistent finish marked by touches of white pepper and oaked warmth. This 46% ABV rum is suited for neat tasting or with a light ice cube, and can also be used as a base for tropical or modern cocktails that draw on its fruity, structured aromatic profile.
